Threefold Gothic Tracery. Pendant
Gothic tracery may look elaborate, but beneath the ornament is remarkably simple geometry.
3-fold rotational symmetry: one third-turn = 120°.
Full rotation: 360° ÷ 3 = 120° per repeated unit.
Three axes: the design repeats equally around a central point, producing three balanced sections.
Trefoil: classically three equal lobes arranged around a common centre. A simple construction places them at 0°, 120° and 240°.
Triangle connection: threefold tracery naturally relates to the geometry of an equilateral triangle inscribed within a circle. Its three vertices divide the circumference into three equal 120° arcs.
Size:45mm x 54mm x 4mm
